Project Summary:
This incredible equestrian building is a modified Powell Monitor Barn Kit crafted by the in-house design team at DC Structures. This massive post and beam horse barn offers everything our client could want and need in an equestrian facility, including thirteen oversized 14′ x 16′ horse stalls, two tack rooms, a feed room, a three-piece bathroom, and a laundry area. Three functional cupolas adorn the ridge, and a pair of 16′ heavy timber trusses add rustic style to each gable end. We designed each horse stall with steel-framed stall fronts from Classic Equine and a Dutch door leading to covered turnouts. Other unique features include two 20′ x 12′ covered entryways and a large solar panel array on the southern shed roof.

This enormous equestrian facility in Carmel Valley Village, California, boasts numerous custom details throughout, including Classic Equine hinged breezeway doors, Douglas fir tongue and groove siding, and exposure grade glulam beams. Each stall comes with Classic Equine Legend Series stall fronts with yoke openings and removable yoke fills, automatic waterers, and Dutch doors leading to covered turnouts. We widened the stalls by 2′ and added a tack room, feed room, office space, and bathroom and laundry room to the interior. We also designed this structure with two 72″ x 72″ and a 96″ x 96″ cupola with vents. Additionally, a 24′ X 12′ covered entryway with a heavy timber truss adds a unique touch to the exterior while 16′ timber trusses adorn the gable ends.
