Oregon Wine Country Workshop

Newberg, OR4,658 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

Located in the heart of Oregon’s renowned wine country, this brand-new post and beam structure is a 4,658 sq. ft. workshop and storage barn modeled after our Shasta 56′ Apartment Barn Kit. The first floor features a single-car garage, a spacious workshop area with two garage bays, an office with a closet and half bathroom, and a foyer leading up to an expansive storage loft. Upstairs, our clients can utilize 2,306 sq. ft. of conditioned living space for storage, entertainment, and anything else they envision. A 336 sq. ft. covered deck off the back offers the ideal space to relax and take in the sights, providing our clients with a much-needed retreat they can enjoy all year round.

We made a few modifications to our standard Shasta to suit our client’s needs, including expanding the existing deck by 140 square feet, adding a heavy timber cover over the deck and main entrance, and removing structural columns in the workshop. We also added a third overhead garage door to the right gable end and replaced the garage door on the opposite side with hinged patio doors. Woodtone RusticSeries™ board and batten siding gives the exterior an authentic painted wood appearance without the associated maintenance. Additionally, a windowed cupola with a decorative weathervane contributes to this structure’s distinct style while serving as a functional design element in the upstairs storage space.
