Bend RV Garage & Party Barn

Bend, OR2,600 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

Based on our Shasta RV Barn Kit, this post and beam structure in Bend, Oregon, features a multipurpose floor plan custom-tailored to our clients’ needs. The first floor consists of a 1,518 sq. ft. garage area with two garage bays, along with a connecting entryway that includes a powder room and storage area. An enclosed shed roof on the opposite side of the foyer serves as an RV garage bay that also accesses the entryway and storage area. Upstairs, our clients transformed their main living space into a party room with a wet bar, a gas fireplace, and access to a 335 sq. ft. deck. Two offices with a shared bathroom and a craft room with a storage closet and private bathroom complete the second story, making it a unique multi-use space designed for work and leisure.

Our clients made several alterations to the original building model, including reducing the roof pitch from 4/12 to 3/12, extending the second-story deck from 196 square feet to 335 square feet, and adding a 784 sq. ft. shed roof. They also added a 72 sq. ft. covered entry with a decorative timber truss and a 12′ mortise and tenon radius bottom chord timber truss to the front gable. Our designers added tempered glass to the windows to comply with the International Residential Code. Because the area is prone to occasional snowstorms, our clients also decided to add an engineering upgrade that increases the structure’s snow load capacity.

Custom Features:

This post and beam structure was modified from our Shasta RV Barn Kit to serve as an RV garage and party barn in Bend, Oregon. To create extra storage space for their recreational vehicle, our clients added a 784 sq. ft. enclosed shed roof to the main level. They also added a 72 sq. ft. covered entry with a decorative heavy timber truss for visual appeal. The exterior is clad with cedar board and batten siding and features Andersen™ 100 Series windows with tempered glass and colonial window grids. On the second story, our clients opted for an Andersen™ A Series French door in place of our standard Andersen™ 100 Series sliding glass door.
