Buena Vista Horse Barn

Buena Vista Horse Barn
Buena Vista, CO3,600 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

Located on a serene and spacious property in Buena Vista, Colorado, this attractive horse barn highlights the countless pros of investing in a monitor-style equestrian structure. With its thoughtfully designed floor plan, high ceilings, and wall-to-wall exposed timbers, this modified Powell 60′ offers an expansive interior designed for superior comfort and efficiency.

Sliding barn doors on the gable ends lead into the 3,600 sq. ft. horse barn, where a generous breezeway aisle divides the space into two sections. On one end, five horse stalls, each equipped with Legend Series stall fronts and Dutch doors from Classic Equine, offer roomy accommodations that lead to partially covered paddocks. Directly across the aisle, our clients can utilize a large hay and feed room, a wash bay, a tack room, and a half bathroom.

Our clients removed the second-story center aisle loft from their design, creating a wide-open interior with stunning vaulted wood ceilings. Clerestory windows also add to the immense appeal of the barn, allowing natural light to pour through the space. By adding two covered shed roofs, one on the paddock end and the other above the patio, our clients and their horses can enjoy over 1,400 sq. ft. of shaded outdoor space. Furthermore, a gable truss above the outdoor seating area gives the structure a stately appearance while enhancing the overall charm of the barn.

Custom Features:

Starting with our Powell Monitor Barn Kit, these clients took our standard monitor-style barn design and transformed it into an incredible wood-clad space that any horse would be happy to call home! With the help of our designers, our clients made several structural modifications to the building, including removing the center aisle loft and adding two 720 sq. ft. shed roofs. They also opted for Legend Series stall fronts with front door yokes and Dutch doors from Classic Equine as part of their interior. As a result of removing the center aisle loft, these clients can enjoy a wonderfully open space defined by its high ceilings and expansive feeling. Making beauty and efficiency a focus, they successfully designed a barn that will stand the test of time while ensuring total comfort, security, and happiness.
