Project Summary:
Located on a lakefront property in Central California, this barn-style residence offers the perfect setting for year-round entertaining. This 6,860 sq. ft. custom home started as an Oakridge 70’ Apartment Barn Kit and underwent several modifications to achieve our clients’ vision. These modifications include heavy timber ceiling upgrades, ten gable dormers in place of the original four Nantucket dormers, two extra cupolas, and an enclosed shed roof on the main level. The first floor features a massive garage and workshop with three drive-through garage bays. Upstairs, our clients can enjoy an open-concept living area with a state-of-the-art kitchen and game room customized to their tastes. The second story also features three bedrooms, including a well-appointed primary bedroom, two-and-a-half bathrooms, and a 588 sq. ft. stone deck leading to a spacious covered patio.

Custom Features:
This post and beam home is a fully decked-out version of our Oakridge 70’ Apartment Barn Kit. Our team heavily modified this lakefront residence to make room for a 2850 sq. ft. garage with six garage bays on the first floor, with an enclosed shed roof on the right side serving as a workshop, mudroom, powder room, and foyer. The upstairs three-bedroom home features dozens of custom details throughout, including our heavy timber ceiling upgrade, handcrafted timber frame trusses, and gridded windows. Three jumbo windowed cupolas above the main living space let in plenty of natural light, while a row of gable dormers on the left and right sides of the structure creates a unique exterior detail. Our team also added a nearly 600 sq. ft. deck to the gable end facing the lake, with a completely custom exterior staircase leading down to the covered patio below. With its rustic heavy timber accents, stonework, and reclaimed-style wood stain, this custom home is a truly one-of-a-kind project.
