This client just outside Indianapolis started with an Oakridge 60′ apartment barn kit and made a number of structural modifications to create a custom heavy timber workshop with a comfortable living space above. The center aisle was widened from 12′ to 16′ and the sidewalls were raised significantly to accommodate a drive-through RV garage with two 14′ x 14′ overhead doors. A second set of two 10′ x 14′ doors provides a second extra-tall drive-through bay, and a 12′ x 60′ enclosed shed roof with two 10′ x 12′ doors was added for even more vehicle storage.

The second level features a spacious open-concept great room area with vaulted ceilings and exposed heavy timbers. The clients can use the modern kitchen with island, or barbecue outside on the 12′ x 16′ deck. An office, a large bunk room and a full bathroom fill out the rest of the loft.
