The Force is strong with this client in Lake Oswego, Oregon! Dubbed the “Bat Cave,” this hobby barn and lady cave is the ultimate oasis for any Star Wars fan or Batman enthusiast. The entire upstairs loft serves as a colorful game room and collector’s gallery, with Batman and Star Wars memorabilia and arcade games abound. Outside, a spacious cedar deck with an exterior staircase offers beautiful views of the wooded property.
Downstairs, you’ll find a hobby garage and workshop area with space for outdoor toys, vehicles, and skating equipment. There’s also an adjacent woodworking room that opens to the outside. Our heavy timber loft upgrade is on full display in both spaces, with Douglas fir rafters, joists, and T&G material lining the ceilings. Additionally, our team added glass overhead garage doors and hinged patio doors to its design.

Custom Features:
This highly personalized Oakridge features several special details inside and out. For example, the exterior of the building is clad with WoodTone RusticSeries™ Summer Wheat siding to achieve a faux wood appearance. Our clients also decided to extend their cedar deck from 12’ x 12’ to 12’ x 36’ and added an exterior staircase in lieu of our standard stair package. To make room for the loft entrance, we designed a shed dormer over the entry doors. Inside the loft, our Douglas fir tongue and groove ceiling upgrade adds a unique rustic touch.
