Project Summary:
Adapted from our Oakridge Apartment Barn Kit, this heavy timber home in Flora, Mississippi, features a nearly 10,000 sq. ft. building footprint, with a 3,281 sq. ft. horse barn on the main level, a 3,528 sq. ft. home above, and 2,016 sq. ft. of covered shed space. Our client heavily modified our base Oakridge model to include dozens of premium upgrades, including our heavy timber roof upgrade, Legend Series stall front package, and more.
On the first floor, you’ll find a gorgeous wood-clad horse barn with nine horse stalls, a wash bay, a tack room, a feed room, and a half bathroom. Two timber-framed shed roofs lay on either side of the barn, providing plentiful shade and cover for our clients and their horses. A custom pavilion extends from the barn to our client’s covered arena, offering sufficient overhead protection in the sweltering summers or freezing winter months.
One story up, our clients can enjoy a magnificent living space with timber frame ceilings, trapezoid window walls, and access to a 648 sq. ft. covered deck. Their open-concept living area includes a modern kitchen with a five-seater island, a game room area, and a great room and dining room separated by a dual-sided stone fireplace. Down the hall, a primary bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and two bedrooms with a shared jack-and-jill bathroom. There’s also a shared 75 sq. ft. deck with pristine views of the surrounding property.
