This captivating modern home in Arden, North Carolina, is one of the first residential projects in our portfolio where the client also acted as the general contractor. Starting as a custom concept, this home, adorably named the “Myrtle,” boasts a minimal post and beam design that complements the interior space rather than being a primary feature.
Inside, a 1,863 sq. ft. conditioned living space with a 582 sq. ft. garage provides a light-filled, contemporary setting with endless flexibility. Down the hall from their open-concept living space, which includes a modern kitchen, bar area, dining room, and great room, three bedrooms with two full bathrooms offer a cozy and comfortable refuge for our client and their family. Off the kitchen area, a secluded patio space provides direct access to an outdoor seating area with a built-in firepit. For nights when our client prefers a change of scenery, they can always utilize the front porch for lounging, casual drinks, and watching the sunset.

Custom Features:
Aside from starting as a custom design and materials package, one of the more unique aspects of this home is that our team only provided the basic framing materials for the structure. Everything else you see in this house, from the siding and trim to the doors, windows, interior finishing, and roofing material, was sourced entirely by the client. Our client, a prominent builder in the state, used their contracting expertise to singlehandedly plan and execute this simplistic yet sophisticated abode. In our opinion, the result couldn’t have been better, and we think it speaks volumes to the quality of their craftsmanship, care, and vision!
