This custom home design is a unique take on our Oakridge Apartment Barn Kit and Sellwood Garage kit. Designed for our clients in Cleves, Ohio, this heavy timber residence features a basement level in the home and a lower level in the garage to fit their sloped property. The entryway opens to a magnificent great room with soaring heavy timber ceilings, a tall stone fireplace, and a window wall with patio doors that access a 462 sq. ft. deck. To the right of the great room, you’ll find an open-concept kitchen and dining area that adjoins the deck, a walk-in pantry, and a mud/laundry room that connects with a covered walkway leading to the garage. On the opposite end, our clients can take advantage of a cozy master bedroom with a large en-suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and deck access. There’s also a PDR in the hallway.
Stairs in the foyer lead to an upstairs loft that overlooks the entirety of the great room. Doors on either side of the loft lead to a second and third bedroom, each with a private bathroom, walk-in closet, and window seat. Two levels down, a 1,864 sq. ft. basement area provides ample room for storage and includes a walk-out patio with beautiful property views. The walk-out patio connects with the lower-level garage and an exterior staircase leading to the covered walkway.

Custom Features:
This highly personalized residence underwent numerous structural modifications to achieve its one-of-a-kind appearance. For instance, the shed dormers were removed from our standard Oakridge model and replaced with a 19’ gable dormer and two 11’ gable dormers at the front of the structure. Our clients also added a custom covered entryway with a 6/12 gable pitch and heavy timber truss. To connect the home and garage, our designers created a covered walkway with heavy timber railing and columns. They also added an exterior staircase to the walkway that leads down to the lower-level garage and full basement. In the rear, a 462 sq. ft. deck with a two-story gable cover and shed roofs gives this home a striking appearance, along with its adjacent wall of windows. Inside, our heavy timber framing upgrade is on full display in the main living space. With this available upgrade, our clients can enjoy a wide-open living area free of structural constraints.
