Snoqualmie Pass Barn Home

Snoqualmie Pass, WA2,601 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

This rustic barn home in Snoqualmie Pass, Washington is a highly personalized version of our Oakridge 36’ Apartment Barn Kit. The main level consists of an 864 sq. ft. workshop, a one-car garage, and an entryway with stairs leading to the second story. Upstairs, our clients can enjoy a two-bedroom, one-bathroom home with an open-concept dining, living, and kitchen area and a 155 sq. ft. cedar deck overlooking the forested region. Our client added several custom upgrades to their design, including Clopay Canyon Ridge® Carriage House garage doors, a heavy timber staircase in the foyer, an exterior staircase for the existing deck, and Nantucket dormers to replace our standard gable dormers. The exterior is clad with HardiePanel® Cedarmill® vertical siding with HardieTrim® batten boards. Our clients also opted for an engineering upgrade that increased the snow load capacity from 40 lbs to 222 lbs.

Custom Features:

This barn-style home features several custom details that are both functional and attractive. For example, in place of our standard Classic Equine breezeway doors, our client opted for Clopay Canyon Ridge® Carriage House (4-layer) garage doors. They also added an exterior staircase for the existing deck. Because the property is susceptible to severe snowstorms, our client decided to increase the snow load capacity from 40 lbs to 222 lbs. Additionally, they went with Nantucket dormers in place of our standard gable dormers, HardiePanel® Cedarmill® vertical siding with HardieTrim® batten boards for their exterior, and 14′ open web wood floor trusses.
