Teháma Loft Barn

Carmel, CA3,500 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

This magnificent horse barn in the privately owned Teháma Carmel compound makes a strong case for investing in our timber framing capabilities! Inside this remarkable equestrian facility, you’ll find an exceptionally open and intricate interior outfitted with top-notch features like custom-made horse stalls, Andersen 400 Series windows, and a combination of premium red oak tongue and groove siding and our signature cedar board and batten.

The first floor consists of four horse stalls, all equipped with Classic Equine Dutch doors, transom windows, and chew protection on exposed corners, as well as a tack and feed room, a full bathroom with laundry, and a seating area with a small kitchen space. A heavy timber staircase leads to a second-story loft with a half bathroom, where handlers can store their equipment and supplies or unwind and relax in their free time.

We adapted this design from our Columbia Gable Barn Kit, with our team modifying the base package to include dozens of structural and decorative upgrades, including a 12′ x 70′ shed roof, a 1,958 sq. ft. U-shaped loft, and a whopping 96′ x 96′ windowed cupola. Additionally, we equipped this structure with our WUI high fire upgrade, a pre-stain package with fire retardant stain options, and a Hunter Panel roof insulation system for optimal fire safety and protection.
