Texas Custom Horse Barn

Texas Custom Horse Barn
Dripping Springs, TX2,240 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

Modified from our Powell Monitor Barn Kit, this horse barn in Dripping Springs, Texas features a Western-inspired design that suits the surrounding desert region. The exterior is clad with Hardie® Panel Select Cedarmill® board and batten siding to give the barn a natural cedar look. Our clients also chose to apply a specialty wood stain to their interior and exterior wood components that mimics the appearance of reclaimed wood. Like most of our horse barn projects, this post and beam barn is designed with Classic Equine breezeway doors and Dutch doors that add functionality and curb appeal. Additionally, our clients added two 12’ x 56’ open shed roofs to their design — one serving as a covered turnout area and the other acting as equipment storage space.

Inside this barn, you’ll find open horse stalls separated by a half wall, a 14’ x 14’ tack room, a 14’ x 14’ wash bay, and a generous feed and storage room on the main level. Upstairs, the raised center aisle has been transformed into a gaming loft with extra room for storage. The interior also features floor-to-ceiling Douglas fir tongue and groove wall coverings that are stained to create a more grainy, natural texture, with Andersen 100 Series windows throughout accentuating these details.

Custom Features:

This post and beam structure features a highly personalized design that reflects our clients’ unique tastes and space requirements. To accommodate their storage needs, these clients extended the barn to 44′ x 56′ and added two 12’ x 56’ open shed roofs to the exterior. Appearance-wise, they opted for a rustic, somewhat reclaimed look in and outside their barn. This was achieved by applying a specialty wood stain to their interior and exterior wood components. The addition of Hardie® Panel Select Cedarmill® board and batten siding also gives this barn a Western-like appearance that perfectly suits the property.
