Wine Country Workshop & Barn

Healdsburg, CA2,004 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

Situated on an incredible vineyard property in the heart of Healdsburg, California, this post and beam barn blends past and present styles to create its one-of-a-kind design. This barn was modified from our Columbia 40′ Gable Barn Kit to serve as a 1,122 sq. ft. workshop with boat and vehicle storage capabilities. It also boasts an 882 sq. ft. loft that our clients can use as an entertainment space, office, or storage area.

Our designers made several changes to the original model, including removing the standard 12′ x 28′ shed roof, adding a 14′ x 10′ shed dormer, and increasing the overall size by 256 square feet. We also removed the vented cupola and a set of columns inside the barn and replaced the initial tongue and groove siding with select tight knot cedar board and batten. Although this barn features an authentic rustic look throughout, we incorporated several modern design elements in and outside the space, including an aluminum glass garage door from Wayne Dalton, Pella 250 Series single-hung windows, and Woodtone ColorSelect™ siding on the shed dormer. Sliding breezeway doors with quad glass tops add to this effect, along with custom stair railing and industrial lighting fixtures.
