Whitefish Modern Mountain Home

Whitefish, MT13,000 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

This modern mountain home in Whitefish, Montana, is the breathtaking result of a collaborative partnership between our team, Timber Forge Design, and Denman Construction. Timber Forge Design created the design and concept for this extraordinary custom home, which we then transformed into a complete pre-engineered framing and hardware package for the building crew at Denman Construction.

This magnificent heavy timber home features six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a four-car garage, and multiple indoor and outdoor entertainment areas spread across three levels of living space. The main level consists of an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area with a butler’s pantry, a primary bedroom with a large en-suite closet and two walk-in closets, a four-car garage, and a 582 sq. ft. exterior deck with room for a fire pit and outdoor dining. The upstairs loft includes an identical primary bedroom suite, living area, and outdoor deck space to the first floor, save for a second bedroom, bathroom, and exercise room above the garage. Two floors down, a daylight basement offers three additional bedrooms, an entertainment area with wine storage, a craft room, storage space, and an exterior patio — all of which boast beautiful views of this client’s tree-laden property.

Custom Features:

There are dozens of unique aspects to this project, but one of the most noteworthy relates to our role in creating this stunning mountain home. We worked directly with Denman Construction on the structural portion of the project, with our team taking the existing structural drawings from Timber Forge and modeling them in our 3D design software to identify connection points and placements for every steel and wood framing component. We then translated these plans into detailed instructions for our CNC precision woodworking machine, which pre-cuts, drills, and individually labels our framing lumber to exact specifications. By prefabricating and preparing these clients’ framing materials ahead of time, we could facilitate a simple, efficient, and cost-effective framing process that made the entire build run smoothly from start to finish.
