Project Summary:
This colorful barn home in Clarkdale, Arizona, a quaint town southwest of Sedona and Flagstaff, is the first-ever Concordia Barn Home Kit featured in our project gallery. This post and beam structure sits on a scenic hillside property overlooking the surrounding desert region and boasts sweeping views that our clients can enjoy from nearly every area of their home.
This home opens to an eclectic living, kitchen, and dining space with two-story tall ceilings, hinged patio doors, and an upstairs storage loft. To the left of the entryway, you’ll find a primary bedroom suite with an en-suite bathroom, a walk-in closet, and access to the backyard. There’s also a mudroom and laundry area. On the right, a bedroom toward the rear offers patio access and an attached bathroom. Clients can also take advantage of a spacious den and office area with a full bathroom and walk-in closet.

Custom Features:
While this personalized Concordia bears many similarities to our standard one from the outside, it’s quite the opposite story on the inside. Though our clients kept some of the original features, we made several modifications to the floor plan to accommodate their vision for a one-of-a-kind space. For instance, we designed this floor plan to take full advantage of their property views by moving their mudroom and laundry area away from the rear. We also removed the staircase leading to their loft area and replaced it with a functional ladder. To give them more space in their primary bedroom, we moved it to the opposite wing of the home and replaced the third bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. Additionally, we expanded the square footage of their den and office area and added a full bathroom and walk-in closet.
