Indiana Custom Wedding Venue

Michigan City, IN7,172 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

This charming wedding venue in Michigan City, Indiana combines several popular features from our pre-engineered building models to form its one-of-a-kind design. Our clients started with a Sunnyside Event Barn Kit and modified the design to include a raised center aisle that opens to the main hall below, along with a 432 sq. ft. mezzanine, a 1,008 sq. ft. prep kitchen and storage room addition, and a 144 sq. ft. entrance vestibule. The structure was extended from 72’ to 108’ to accommodate nearly 300 guests in the main hall, with the upstairs mezzanine offering additional seating and standing room. A private bridal suite and ADA bathrooms round out the remainder of the interior, while a 929 sq. ft. covered porch offers pristine views of the neighboring man-made lake.

Custom Features:

As mentioned above, this custom wedding venue was tastefully modified to include a number of popular features from some of our other building models. This includes the addition of a raised center aisle — a feature synonymous with our Powell Monitor Barn Kit and Legacy Event Barn Kit — and three cupolas with vents above the main hall. However, there are dozens of custom selections throughout this venue that make it truly original, including gridded Andersen 100 Series windows, metal flashing in the main hall, and a 12′ mortise & tenon radius bottom chord timber truss that adorns the front gable. Additionally, our clients upgraded from our standard post and beam frame to 10x Douglas fir posts and appearance-grade glulam beams for an improved heavy timber aesthetic.
