Montana Timber Frame Home

Montana Timber Frame Home
Lakeside, MT6,085 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

This custom residence we crafted for our clients in Lakeside, Montana, is a perfect example of our versatile design capabilities! Our team modified our standard Thielsen Timber Frame Home Kit to create this magnificent three-level home that includes everything our clients could want and need in a full-time residence. The main level features an open-concept living, kitchen, and dining area to the left of the entrance, where clients can take advantage of a spacious outdoor deck, a tall stone fireplace, and a large walk-in pantry in the kitchen. Stairs in the great room lead down to a fully-equipped basement that consists of a game room with a bar and walk-out patio, an office, a home gym, a dedicated yoga area, a guest bedroom, a bathroom, a storage area, and a gun safe.

Back upstairs, you’ll find a cozy primary bedroom with a fireplace, a private patio, and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in closet to the right of the entrance. There’s also a half bathroom and laundry room in the foyer, a mudroom with a dog washing station, a mechanical room, and an angular three-car garage that shares a shed roof with the covered entryway. One floor up, a loft with two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a storage area, and an extra-large office makes an ideal living space for kids or visiting relatives. With dozens of perks to enjoy throughout, our clients are guaranteed to love this timber frame retreat for years to come!

Custom Features:

This highly personalized Thielsen features dozens of unique details throughout, including a lower-level basement designed for entertainment and an angular garage that pivots to the right of the entryway. Our designers modified the sample floor plan to include a three-car garage to the right of the entrance and an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area on the left, essentially switching the original position of both the garage and great room. We also reconfigured the loft to include a storage area and office over the garage and adjusted the layout of the primary bedroom on the first floor to create one long shed roof over the patio and covered deck in the rear. Additionally, this unique timber frame home includes an engineering upgrade that increases the snow load capacity of the structure to 75 lbs.
