Project Summary:
This hybrid timber frame home in Oregon City, Oregon, is a dream come true for anyone that loves the look of luxury Northwest-style homes! We designed and built this incredible structure in tandem with our parent company DC Builders, who completed the framing, installation, and general contracting. It is also the third project we completed for this client, with the first being the Oregon City Covered Riding Arena.
This custom home features a whopping 9,303 sq. ft. footprint that includes a 1,701 sq. ft. three-car garage, a 945 sq. ft. two-story covered patio area, and a 389 sq. ft. portico. With four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, and countless custom details throughout, this breathtaking residence offers an all-inclusive design perfect for families, entertainers, and hobbyists alike. The first floor opens to a magnificent foyer and great room with soaring tongue and groove ceilings, a two-story stone fireplace, massive heavy timber trusses, and a catwalk loft dividing the spaces. The connecting dining room and kitchen also feature a plethora of stunning custom built-ins and design accents, including an Art Deco-style backsplash in the bar area and a large kitchen island with granite countertops.
Directly outside the great room, you’ll find a spacious outdoor living space with a custom built-in kitchen and bar area, a tall double-sided stone fireplace, and a two-story patio cover with tongue and groove ceilings and heavy timber trusses. There’s also an exterior staircase that leading to an upstairs deck with custom metal railing. Back inside, our client can utilize a primary bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet, a recreational room, an office, and a mudroom that connects with the three-car garage. Upstairs, two additional bedrooms with private bathrooms, a craft room, a laundry room, and another primary bedroom offer private guest quarters for visiting friends and family.

Custom Features:
This lodge-style residence offers more custom features than arguably any other custom home design we’ve completed with DC Builders. Of the many unique design elements present in this home, some of the most noteworthy include its custom heavy timber portico and two-story covered patio area, decorative heavy timber trusses, and impressive stonework. However, there are also tons of personalized selections throughout that make this home stand out from others of its kind, including custom kitchen tile and backsplash, metal railing, Hardie® Plank lap siding, and heavy timber built-ins that tie the interior and exterior altogether. Something that makes this home incredibly special is that the team at DC Builders was able to add several unique touches as requested throughout the construction process. For example, our Simple Build System allowed their crew to easily add leftover non-structural Douglas fir beams to the downstairs master suite during the framing stage. This extra detail adds elegance to the primary bedroom on the first floor, creating an inviting space that offers a timeless rustic aesthetic.
