Storm King Mountain Ranch Venue

Montrose, CO6,528 Sq. Ft.

Project Summary:

With its authentic barn wood accents, modern amenities, and idyllic location on a sprawling 200 acre ranch outside Montrose, Colorado, this magnificent wedding venue offers the ideal indoor and outdoor setting for any special occasion. The main level consists of a 3,973 sq. ft. main hall with soaring heavy timber ceilings, private bridal and groom’s suites, a catering kitchen, an office, ADA bathrooms, and a small bar area. The building was upgraded from our standard post and beam method to full timber frame construction, with mortise and tenon joints and other types of decorative joinery connecting our posts and beams within the space. Outside, a 502 sq. ft. timber frame covered entry adds a dramatic visual element to the exterior.

Something that’s highly unique to this wedding venue is that our clients provided heirloom quality reclaimed wood from American Antique Lumber for their siding and ceiling material. The reclaimed material comes from barns built in the late 1700s and early 1800s in Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin, with species in the ceiling liner including Northern White Pine, Hemlock, Fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. This remarkable feature adds historic charm to this wedding venue design, making it the perfect gathering space for those who love the look of reclaimed barn wood in modern interiors.
