This newly-constructed home in Walla Walla, Washington, is modern farmhouse living at its finest! In some ways, this custom residence mimics aspects of our Thielsen Timber Frame Home Kit, including its L-shaped design and covered back porch area. However, in many other ways, it manages to stand out as an entirely original farmhouse-style home with contemporary flair.
The first floor opens to a great room, kitchen, and dining area with stunning vaulted ceilings and decorative beams. Hinged patio doors in the dining room lead out to a spacious covered porch with a protruding gable-style deck cover, an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, and multiple sitting areas — everything our client needs to entertain guests year-round! Back inside, our client can take advantage of two bedrooms with luxurious en-suite bathrooms, walk-in closets, and access to covered patios. They can also utilize a wine cellar with custom built-ins, two separate den/office areas, a walk-in pantry, a laundry room, and a half bathroom in the foyer.

We designed this custom farmhouse-style home with several unique features that capture our client’s personality and style, including vaulted ceilings with timber accents and gridded windows that give the structure a timeless appearance. A tall, dual-sided stone fireplace in the great room and dining area adds a regal touch to this already stately residence. Down the hall, a private wine cellar with custom built-ins offers an elegant space where our client can store their growing wine collection. One of the main attractions of this custom home, however, is its beautiful backyard area. With its fully-equipped outdoor kitchen and fire pit area, our client’s outdoor space offers the perfect setting for family gatherings, celebrations, and casual hangouts.
